Collinear moves deliberately align pieces to create or exploit tactical opportunities along a rank, file, or diagonal. These moves might set up future pins or skewers, or take immediate advantage of an existing alignment. Recognizing when to make collinear moves — and when the opponent's pieces are dangerously aligned — is essential for tactical awareness.
