About Corner Mate
Corner mates exploit the king's severely limited mobility when driven to the corner of the board. With only two or three possible squares, the king becomes easy to trap and checkmate. These patterns appear frequently in endgames and attacking games, and mastering them is essential for converting won positions into victories.
