About Trapped Piece
A trapped piece has ventured to a square where it has no safe retreat and can be hunted down or immediately captured. Recognizing when your own pieces are in danger of becoming trapped — and exploiting situations where your opponent's pieces are trapped — is a crucial practical skill. Many games are decided by a piece that strayed too far and had no way back.
How to use these puzzles
Study the position carefully before moving any pieces. Try to find the best move on your own, then click on the piece you want to move and select the target square.
