About X-Ray Attack

An x-ray attack occurs when a long-range piece (bishop, rook, or queen) attacks through another piece — either its own or the opponent's — to exert influence on a square or piece behind it. This can create unexpected pin-like situations, support a piece that appears unprotected, or enable surprising combinational play. X-ray tactics are common in positions with many pieces on the board.

How to use these puzzles

Study the position carefully before moving any pieces. Try to find the best move on your own, then click on the piece you want to move and select the target square.
